Maisie Hillman celebrated her birthday this year by having a
slumber party. What a brave mom she has! Maisie celebrated
with Grandpa & Grandma Wilhelm earlier in the week and was
treated to Grandpa's famous gourmet hot dogs.

Softball and soccer practices have started and there are
lots of children using the playground area by the Community
Center. Please, if you walk your dog in this area,
pick up after your dog.

Friday, 4-7-1911, The Otoe Union:
A son was born to Henry Budts'. Edith Beccard and
Edward Peshek were married at the German Lutheran
parsonage in Syracuse. They "took up housekeeping"
2 miles north of Unadilla. Earl McKay opened a blacksmith
shop "south of the Livery Barn".

romantic comedy, "Suitehearts" will begin its spring
theater season run on March 25. The story revolves
around two newlywed couples who are mistakenly double-
booked in the same honeymoon suite.

The Otoe County Genealogical Society will be the local host
society for the 34th Annual Nebraska State Genealogical
Society Conference, held at the Nebraska City First United
Methodist Church, May 6th & 7th. The conference will feature
nationally renown speaker, Gail Blankenau, whose presentations
include: Breaking Through Land Records, Introduction to German
Parish Records, Dating and Identifying Your 19th Century
Photographs, Keeping up with the Jonses...and Smiths, and
Rich Resources for Poor Ancestors. Cost for the 2-day
conference is $75.00 and a 1-day session is $40.00
