Norm Duncan reports he came across an injured great horned owl on Roland Rodaway's road. He called Wildlife Rescue and they told him to put a laundry basket over the owl until they could get there. He did and soon someone arrived and took the bird to a safe sanctuary near Elmwood. When the owl has recovered they will call Norm and he will release it near where the owl was found. Way to go Norm!

Peggy Leefers reports there has been interest in having a book club in the area. Anyone interested, please call Peggy at 402-828-5725. If enough people show interest, they will form one in the fall. Also a magazine exchange has been suggested. Anyone with "current magazines" should bring theirs to the library to be enjoyed by others

Someone has dumped couches and chairs in the burn pit. The facility is only for trees and tree trimmings, or raw lumber. NO furniture, leaves or yard waste, painted lumber, dry wall, bags of garbage, anything metal, and so on. Please dispose of these items properly. If the state finds these items at the burn pit we would be in violation of our permit, and the site would be shut down. That would be a big loss to the town as well as the residents. If you're not sure - please call the Village Office at 828-5355.
