The Village Board met Wednesday evening, December 14, with four
trustees present. Dave Potter from JEO was present to discuss the update
of the comprehensive plan which was originally adopted in 2001.
Public hearings will begin in January 2012. Other items discussed
were purchasing a new lawnmower, approving the keno audit, and
salary increases. The public is most welcome at these meetings and
the Village Board urges you to attend.

Barb Wilhelm and Mary Boardman Hanke attended the December
meeting of the Mary Catherine Goddard Chapter of the DAR. They had
lunch at the Boys Town Visitor's Center and then toured Father
Flanigan's home. The home was decorated as it was when Flanigan
lived there and is home to a large collection of photographs. I personally
liked the one by the Father's desk, it was a sweet little altar boy,
with a heck of a shiner!

Capt. Jason and Lori Berner, Kody, Logan, and Mitchell, of
Quantico, VA, recently spent two weeks visiting in Nebraska with
relatives and friends, staying with Teresa & Bruce Liesemeyer,
Unadilla. They also attended the funeral of Lori's mother, Barb Rozmiarek,
in Grand Island. They attended Thanksgiving dinner at the home of
Larry & Peggy Neemann, Syracuse, and the Nebraska v. Iowa
football game.

Bob & Terri Aernie have refurbished the medallion on the back of their
house and found it was from the wooden school building torn down in
1915 after the "new" brick building was completed.
