Sunday, February 12, Karen & Dale Isaacs went to dinner in Nebr.
City at the home of Eileen Isaacs. Edra & Melton Dixson and Alma
Pierson also attended. Later on they went to the 90th birthday party
for Norma Wall at the "Green Room". There was a good turn out and
"old classmates had a nice visit, and on a
happy occasion for a change."

We've been pretty busy here at the Wilhelm Western Outpost
entertaining our favorite grandsons (our only grandsons!). The Star
Wars figurines from when our girls were younger got loved all over
again. And the boys got to have a slumber party with their cousins,
Maisie and Madison. Who needs aerobics when you're chasing
a 5 and 3 year old!

Tuesday night, February 14, Roy Bretthorst was sworn in as First

Legion Post #100. Doing the honors was Paul Wallman, Commander of
Post #100.

Five members of the Unadilla Area Foundation joined members of
Affiliated Funds from Waverly, Springfield, and Nebraska City at
the Duncan Building last Thursday night, February 16. A delicious
meal was catered by The Bar. Jeff Yost spoke about the transfer of
wealth that will be going on in the next two decades. He explained
that as the next generation passes on, a lot of their children have moved
to other states, as will the benefits of those inheritances. Yost gave the
example of someone having 6 children, but providing for 7 when
organizing their estate/will. The 7th child would be the local community
foundation/town/cemetery/favorite charity. He also discussed the many
benefits a farmer could provide to his community by making donations
of grain or livestock. If you're interested in more details, please contact
any Unadilla Foundation member: Barb Wilhelm, Larry Larson, Bob
Brandt, Maureen Vogt, Peggy Leefers, Donna Crownover, or
Margo Larson.

Did you catch NETV Sunday night? Jon & Jan Yoachim, who live north
of town, were part of a story about local food sources. Before that,
Perry Stoner had a segment.
