Well, I'm proud to say I participated in and finished the 1st Annual TSCI Prison Break 5K in one hour and 12 minutes. Not too impressive you say? I was determined just to finish, no matter how long it took! And thanks to my kind husband for hanging back and finishing with me. Also joining in the fun were Michele & Maisie Hillman, Matt Capps, Mary, Kaylee, & Austin Hanke. There was a large bunch from the Syracuse Area also. Mark the Unadilla Day 5K on your calendars for Saturday, June 23rd. More details on that later.

The Board and the Planning Commission met Wednesday, April 11. The main focus was the updating and approval of the new zoning ordinances. We will be sending out information on the changes around May 1st. No one appeared to make public comments. Evan Wickersham, JEO, appeared to discuss street repairs and paving, with the street past the Methodist Church going south at the top of the list.

In memory_of

Saturday we said goodbye to Russ Ziemann, former Chairman of the Board, Unadilla Board of Trustees. He was a quiet man with a huge heart, and had so much patience for a new clerk who was flying solo. His vision was to revitalize Main Street, and it was accomplished, beautifully. He had so many wonderful attributes, but always shrugged off any praise. Russ was always willing to lend a helping hand, and it didn't matter if it was family or a complete stranger. Trixie, he was definitely one of the good guys! I will miss our talks - farewell old friend.

Saturday, April 7, Dale & Karen Isaacs, Russell Hull, Randy & Jeanie Steinkuler, Tareva Tinsley of Waverly, and Harold Hull of Douglas, went to York to the home of Mike & Rebecca Brungardt, Blake and Hayden, for Easter dinner. After a delicious meal the youngsters, young and old, were ready to hunt Easter eggs. Lots of eggs filled with candy and everyone was lucky enough to find an egg filled with money. A very successful hunt and a good family get together but missed those who couldn't come.

Did you know that if U.S. homeowners let their grass clippings remain on the lawn, they could reduce fertilizer use by 25% and save 1.3 billions pounds of chemical fertilizers and more diesel fuel than Amtrack uses in 6 years?

What a wild weather weekend! Although the closest actual tornado was near Cook, the wind took a toll on the trees, roofs, and the frame for Chuck Bjork's new shed.

Sunday, April 8, Tareva Tinsley and her friend, Lauren Palmesano of Waverly, were over night guests at her grandparents, Dale & Karen Isaacs, and her Dad, Russell Hull. On Monday Russell escorted the girls around and they went to the SAC Museum.

From the County Clerk: Voter registration through the mail must be postmarked by April 27th; in person at the Courthouse by May 7th. The last day an "early voting" ballot can be mailed is May 9th. You may view sample ballots at the Village Office, open 8:30 - 1:00, Monday - Friday.

Wednesday, April 11, David & Vicky Taney, Sequim, WA, stopped in to visit their aunt Sylvia Stubbendeck at Linden View, and aunt Marcene Boettcher, at the Good Samaritan Center. They got to see their uncle Bill Boettcher at his home; then they had lunch at AJ's with cousin Dale & Karen Isaacs. David's parents are the late Dick & Lois (Boettcher) Taney, who once lived in Unadilla.
