OCGS had its second stop on the Village Tour in Palmyra. There were 32 in attendance, with 6 members present. Lois Eichenberry and Wilma Halvorsen gave such an interesting talk and had tables full of pictures, old record books, and other memorabilia. We heard some great stories, too! (Thanks to Mary Hanke for the copies of the old photos.)

Barb Wilhelm and sister, Mary Hanke, attended the State Genealogical Convention Friday and Saturday at Grand Island. The main speaker, Laura Prescott, told about the valuable information found in diaries and wills, and how the term "spinster" might refer to a married woman who owned property, and serveral other problems researching female ancestors. There was a wonderful session on identifying old photographs, a cancer screening, how to write your "story" using a timeline, and a most enjoyable session on Czech history. The convention will be held in Grand Island again next year, the first weekend in May.
