Lois Ebert attended the wedding of her granddaughter, Annie Ebert,

and Chad Ellenberger, at the Zion Church in Lincoln,

on Sunday, July 1st

Bob & Barb Wilhelm had a great time on their "mini-vacation" stopping

at Hamilton, MO, to visit the Missouri Star Quilt Company,

(it is also the home of J.C. Penny)

a few antique stores at Jamesport, MO,

before arriving in Hannibal, MO. It was the National Tom Sawyer Days

and one of the big attractions was the fence painting contest

Among other events were the Backseat Driver's contest, the Frog

Jumping contest, and the Hannibal Cannibal race. They visited the

Mark Twain Museum (where they also learned about the Palmyra, MO,

massacre) and listened to storyteller Gladys Coggswell, saw Judge

Clemens office,

Becky Thatcher's house,

visited some unique shops,

met some very interesting residents, and walked along the

Mississippi River.

Then they headed north to Iowa City, and spent two glorious days with their

favorite grandsons (their only grandsons!). The only bad part - the

temperature was 102+ degrees the whole time they were gone.

 Friday, 7-12-1912, The Otoe Union:

 "Charles Dorman has his new farm residence completed and it is

said to be a very handsome affair." The temperature was 112 degrees on

July 5th. With the money left over from the July 4th celebration,

the Commercial Club voted to buy 2 street lights for $50 each.

July 19, 2012

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission of the Village of Unadilla, NE, will meet in a publicly convened session on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. at the Village Library, 770 G Street, Unadilla, NE 68454. The agenda of subjects to be considered at said meeting is kept continuously current and available for public inspection at the Village Office and is as follows:

No New Business

Except for items of an emergency nature, the agenda shall not be enlarged later than twenty-four hours before the scheduled commencement of the meeting. Persons needing special accommodations should contact the Village Office at least five days prior to the meeting date.

ANNUAL CATERING LICENSE APPLICATION

UNADILLA, NEBRASKA

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that RA Wassenberg Inc dba The Bar has filed in due form for an annual catering license.

Said applicant’s place of business is 359 Main Street, Unadilla, NE 68454.

Notice is hereby given that written protests to the issuance of said license may be filed by any resident of the Village of Unadilla on or before 7:30 p.m. on July 11, 2012, in the office of the Village Clerk, Unadilla Community Center, in the Village of Unadilla, Nebraska. At that time a hearing will be held to determine whether said license should be allowed.

Visitors needing special accommodations should contact the Village Office at least five (5) days prior to the hearing date.
