Cpt. Marcus Wilhelm spoke at the assembly, Monday,
November 12, at the Senior High Gym. He spoke about sitting on the
bleachers during high school at SHS and not really knowing what he
wanted to do, and continued through the 15 years since his graduation
including his year's deployment to Afghanistan. Perhaps his overall
message should be remembered as "Regardless of what you do,
when circumstances require action, the important thing is to respond."
Another amazing performance was given by Erin Poe and
the band. All attendees were honored to be present.

Thanks to Kathryn Speth Romine for the photos

Library news from Peggy Leefers: Many new books have been
received at the Library, and will be added to the shelves each week.
A big thank you to Donna & Dean Speth for their continued
support and donations of great books to share with the community.
The family of Russ & Trixie Ziemann are donating the extensive
library of their parents and it will certainly provide great reading for
many years with a diverse selection of current best sellers and a
wide range of subject matter. Stop in and check some out!
Old and outdated books are being sorted, deleted, and given away
to make more space. This will be an ongoing project during the
coming months, and if you can help in anyway, please call
Peggy at 402-828-5725. The Library is open Tuesdays & Saturdays
from 9 - 11 a.m., but can be opened anytime for your
convenience by the Village Clerk. We are here to serve the
community and is operated through donations and by volunteers.
The new books will increase our resources to over 14,000 volumes.

The election is over (thank goodness!). Locally, Lynn Schomerus
and Sharon Baker were the top vote getters. Baker will begin her
term and be sworn in at the December 12 meeting.
