Tuesday, March 12, 70 members of Massie-Richards American
Legion Post #100 and their Auxiliary had a great corned beef and
cabbage meal and honored their long time members. Jody Clark
received her 50 year certificate and Chuck Bjork and Larry Larson
received their 40 year certificate. Attending from Unadilla:
Ed Reed, Ron & Lois Johnson, Chuck & Bev Bjork, Jody Clark,
Larry & Margo Larson, Bob & Barb Wilhelm. Thanks to the
Auxiliary for providing the decorations and the birthday cake.

Wednesday, March 13, the Village Board met and discussed
several items including running a sidewalk from the covered
shelter to the concession stand toilets, in memory of Jerry
Leefers; the upcoming Unadilla Day Celebration on June 22;
nuisance property and how to get rid of it; habitual delinquent
water customers; identifying the Community Center for out of
town visitors; and refinishing the gym floor. The next meeting
will be April 10th.

Thursday evening, March 14, eight members of the Otoe County
Genealogical Society met at Lorton for an evening meal and then
traveled to Talmage for an interesting presentation about that
village's past history. Our hosts were Elaine Hauberg and
Carol Fischer, and we met at their wonderful library, which held
the 15 attendees with room to spare. They have some amazing
photos there and most of the old Talmage newspapers, so if
you have any links to that area, this is a great resource!

Friday, 3-21-1913, The Otoe Union:
The senior class play was "A Kentucky Belle". It was held at the
Town Hall and admission was 15 cents for children and 25 cents
for adults. W.F. Hair had "Chase & Sanborn's high grade blended
coffee put up in 5 lb packages at $1.60 per package." The
Methodist Church had outgrown its building and was
planning an addition.
