Panorama View of Unadilla Cemetery

(Marcus Wilhelm)

The guys did a great job, as usual, putting up and taking down the

flags at the Unadilla Cemetery. It is customary to write the veteran's

name on the flag who donated it. This year, we were honored to have a

flag flown in Afghanistan by Cpt. Marcus Wilhelm. It reads, "In memory

of the 31 Heroes who perished on Extortion 17,

August 6, 2011" and flew at the memorial they made for them

outside their CP area at Forward Operating Base Shank.

Thank you Marcus for the flag and for your service to our country.

Another big thank you to every one who showed up Monday

night to take the flags down and put them away in such

yukky weather.

Warning: We have had reports of badly behaved children without an

adult, and vandalism, at the Community Center. The main complaint

is the propping open of exit doors so that anyone can enter at

any time, and a broken window in the exercise room. People, you're

being videotaped at all times! Those identified will be contacted.

If the family has a membership, it could be revoked. Others should

expect a visit from the county sheriff.

Safe water drinking tip #4: Never use unprotected faucets to fill

non-drinking water containers (i.e. water beds, wading pools,

stock tanks, etc.)

Sunday, OCGS members Barb Wilhelm and Mary Hanke

travelled to Falls City to tour the underground mausoleum at

Steele Cemetery, west of town. They looked at many of the

unusual tombstones and heard som good stories. It was a

most enjoyable day.
