 Nice Crowd

Unadilla Day, June 22nd, turned out hot and windy, but that didn't

keep anyone away. Thanks to Cassie Royal for organizing the sand volleyball

tournament and to Tim Boerner, the official scorekeeper for the

horseshoe pitching contest.

I haven't been able to track down the winning results yet,

so if you have them please let me know! Same goes for the

Lil' Tugger's Tractor pull. As always, the qualifiers are eligible to

pull at the State Fair.

The water slide was a good attraction again this year. It was moved

up the hill to a steeper incline and everyone enjoyed a

"speedier ride."

Orchard Hill Catering did a super job in preparing the meat and

beans. For a free will donation, you could eat all you wanted of

barbequed chicken, ribs, pulled pork, potato salad, coleslaw, baked

beans, potato chips and drinks. Where else can you can a

deal like that?

Thanks to the moms and members of Girl Scout Troop 21

for bringing the dessert. And thanks to the Southeast Nebraska

Community Band, they were troopers! And their music was

rousing as always!

Unadilla Hardware provided the ice to keep everything cool.

The Village Board and the Unadilla Area Foundation would like to

thank their spouses and families, and the many, many volunteers

who helped set up, tear down, and worked at the various activities.

I would like to personally thank Corinne Zahn for being such a

great clerk-in-training and for taking over for me when I got sick.

I would also like to thank Corinne, Bob Wilhelm, and Mary Hanke

for all the great photos.

Hope to see you all again next year!
