We have been notified by Rural Water District #3 that

"Due to ongoing drought conditions, please be responsible with

the use of your water." They also reported that one sample tested

positive, and if there are any further problems, they will be

chlorinating as required by State regulations.

If you haven't been to the Midwest Genealogical Center in

Independence, Missouri, it's sure worth the trip. And you can make

it there and back in one day. You will be amazed at how much

information is housed in this new building. It is handicapped

accessible and the people that work there are so nice and

helpful. My sister Mary and I spent the day there, perusing

record books. We will have to make a return trip to view the

digital records. If you would like driving directions,

let me know!

Can you believe the Otoe County Fair will start in less than

two weeks? Don't forget to stop by the

Legion/VFW/SAL Bingo stand in the air-conditioned Fair

Center. Bob Wilhelm has been busy stocking the

"prize cupboard". All proceeds go to various Youth Programs.

A bit of Nebraska trivia: Nebraska Wesleyan's first home was not

in Lincoln. It was founded in Osceola, moved to Fullerton, and

finally moved to Lincoln.
