The Unadilla Area Fund met Tuesday morning, October 8,
in the Library. The All-Fund Drive was reviewed from last year
and corrections made to this year's letter. We hope to mail them
out the first of November. Greta Leach, Nebraska Community
Foundation, came to the meeting to introduce herself, and urged
us to attend the meeting in November at the Lied Center in
Nebraska City. The Groundhog Day Celebration wasl also discussed
(it's never too early to talk about groundhogs!).

Continued get well wishes to Dan Crownover, who has been
moved to Room 359. We hear he has a long road to recovery.
Also, get well wishes to Bryce Luff.
OCGS met at the Resource Room of the Community Library,
Thursday, October 10, with Mary Hanke, Duane Arends, Loreen
Haupt, Kay Busekist, Linda Worral, Linda Parde, and Barb Wilhelm.
A potluck meal was served and several hundred Otoe County
District Court records were filed, bringing the total to 4300 records.
Our database is not complete yet, but if you have the date of the
proceeding, we will be able to find it. You will also find many other
reference books here as well as in the main library.
Come in and see what you can discover!
American Legion Post #100 held their annual flag disposal
ceremony at the Post Home in Syracuse, despite the windy
weather. Several Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Girl Scouts
troops attended, and the meal after the ceremony was served
by the Auxiliary. Featured speakers included Girl's State and
Boy's State participants.
Congratulations to Bob Wilhelm on his retirement from
Nebraska Emergency Management Agency. Not to worry,
he starts his new job on Monday!

Phillip Goering and family were looking at land in Cherry Co.
John Alexander, Ellis West, George West, and William Dean
went to Hamburg, Iowa, on a fishing trip. J.L. Ellis,
pastor of the Christian Church, listed his coming sermon as
"The Special Sin of Unadilla". (ideas anyone?)
