This Pink on Pink Peonies machine quilted comforter will be one of many items auctioned at Lord's Acre Day at the United Methodist Church in Unadilla on Saturday, November 23.

Our condolences to the Boone family of Unadilla, who mourn the
loss of their beloved sister, Patsy Boone Linthicum. Patsy passed
away November 7 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lincoln.
Over 400 people attended the Nebraska Community Foundation's
Annual Banquet at the Lied Center in Nebraska City
Thursday night. It was the last event of the day with
Plattsmouth Community Foundation Fund and Pender-
Thurston Education & Community Foundation Fund receiving
Community Legacy Awards. New board members were introduced,
and retiring board members said their farewells. Matt Rezac
from the Sherwood Foundation spoke about their intent to
help community members strengthen the places they call
home, build capacity, and deepen participation in
community life. John McKnight, professor emeritus at
Northwestern University, spoke about creating the
Asset-Based Community Development strategy for
building up communities. Those from Unadilla attending
included Larry Larson, Karen Hassler, Rosemarie Brandt,
Corinne Zahn, Bob & Barb Wilhelm, Bob & Barb Brandt,
and Tyler & Donna Crownover.
Taking a Sunday afternoon drive, we decided the trees were
the most colorful they have been for several years. Our cotton-
wood tree at the Western Wilhelm Outpost, which I complain
about all spring, is absolutely resplendent in its golden yellow
coat. Bob Brandt says the beautiful red trees around town
and out on the highway right-of-way are "Sunset Maples".

From Peggy Leefers: To the person who left 2 boxes of books
at the library, a big THANK YOU and let me know who you are.
There were quite a few of the books we did not have on our
shelves. We have a great small town library because of the
wonderful support such as yours.
