Welcome home to Dean Achen! Get well wishes
to Barb Brandt.

Congratulations to Gabriel Goes, grandson of Dan & Bev
Crownover, who placed first at the Syracuse tournament,
for age group 6 & 7 year olds.
(Thanks to Bob Brandt for the photo)
Thanks to Roland Rodaway for the large bag of
plastic shopping bags.
The Village Office has had several complaints about dogs
running at large. Remember, if your dog leaves your property,
it needs to be on a leash!
American flags that are torn and disheveled should not be
flown, but turned in to the local post for proper disposal.
Flying a flag in this condition is considered
very disrespectful.
(They may be left at the Village Office)

Nyckelharpa Concerto Premieres in Nebraska
On Sunday, April 13, at 3 PM, the Hastings Symphony will be performing a world premiere: the world's first concerto for nyckelharpa and orchestra. The piece is composed by Dr. Christopher Stanichar, and will be performed by multi-instrumentalist, Deborah Greenblatt. The piece is in three movements, each one reflecting a story by Hans Christian Anderson: "The Brave Tin Soldier", "The Ugly Duckling", and "The Emperor's New Clothes".
The nyckelharpa is the official fiddle of Sweden. The instrument has 16 strings in all. There are 3 melody strings, manipulated by keys, one droning string, and 12 strings that vibrate sympathetically.
For more information about the nyckelharpa, contact the American Nyckelharpa Association (www.nyckelhapra.org/).
