A huge thank you to the Lois Ebert family for replacing
some of the park swings. What a nice thing to do! The
Village Board has also replaced the "bubble" and the "mirror"
on the little kid's equipment.
The Unadilla Cemetery Association met Saturday, April 12,
at the Community Center. Those present: Dean Luff, Dean
Speth, Keith & Sandi Kimbell, and Barb Wilhelm. Dean Luff
was elected president, Dean Speth vice-president, with Wilhelm
remaining Secretary-Treasurer. The 2013 minutes, the 2014
treasurer's report, and the mowing contract with Todd Krieger
were all approved. Wilhelm also gave a report on the flags that
had been retired and properly destroyed. Different projects
were discussed, the main one being a directory for the burial
sites and a map of the cemetery.
Flags will be put up the Saturday before Memorial Day
at 6:30 a.m. and taken down Memorial Day at 6:00 p.m.

diesel fuel than Amtrak uses in 6 years? How will you celebrate
Earth Day?
One hundred years ago the Governor proclaimed this week
as clean-up days for all towns and neighborhoods. We've seen
some great strides around town the last 6 months and its good
to see the improvements.
April 17, 1964, the first Ford Mustang hit the road. It was love at
first sight for me and my brother Rod; his was dark blue with a
white top and slightly resembled a Hamm's beer can, and mine
was baby blue with a black top. I still think it was the best car I
ever owned. (But some people would rather drive a Falcon!)
Please help us identify the party or parties who are
continuing to dump leaves at the burn pile by calling
the Village Office at 402.828.5355. You will not have to
leave your name. Our state license prohibits the burning
of leaves and could cause us to have our permit revoked.

Friday, 4-17-1914, The Otoe Union:
Joe Currah left for Wyoming. "Most everyone with an
automobile was out Sunday enjoying the bright sunshine."
Julius Geschke, 4 miles north of town, committed suicide.
"Hupmobile, the Car for the Farmer's Family, available
at Stedman Bros., Syracuse." A touring car with regular
equipment was $1050. f.o.b. Syracuse; with electric
lighting and starting system, demountable rims, oversize
tires, and tire carrier, $1200 f.o.b. Syracuse.
