The Village Office reports that garbage pick up WILL

occur on Friday, July 4th.

HAVE A SAFE & HAPPY HOLIDAY!

Condolences to the family and many friends of

Ralph Tipken who passed June 26th.

He will be missed.

For the first time in many, many years, Bob and I had to miss the

Unadilla BBQ, but this is what I've learned so far: The weather

played a big factor this year as it had rained so much and was

supposed to that day. Moving to the Community Center was

considered, but in the end, the meal was served from the new

shelter. The ballgames and band were cancelled. Bob Brandt

reports that 20-25 adults and children visited the Dieken Prairie

and learned to identify many insects and butterflies. The water

slide was a big hit as always, and many thanks to Melissa

Daharsh for being there all day. Also drawing a good turnout

was the Horseshoe Pitching Contest. Taking first place were:

Doug Swanson & John Willig; 2nd: Todd Zahn & Mike Weyers;

3rd: Michael West & Troy Whitehead; and 4th: Pat & Jeff Waller.

Thanks so much to Tim Boerner again for organizing and judging

this event. Results of the Fun Run: Adult Male: 1st, Jim

Klaasmeyer, Burr; 2nd, Kurt Beisch, Omaha, 3rd: Jason Varga,

Lincoln. Adult Female: 1st: Elizabeth Burry, Lincoln, 2nd:

Lauren Klaasmeyer, Burr, 3rd: Rea Williams, Lincoln.

Teen Division: 1st, Emma Porter, Unadilla; 2nd, Liz Johnson,

Syracuse; 3rd, April Johnson, Syracuse. 10 & Under Division:

1st, Abby Ortiz, Syracuse; 2nd, Cody Damme, Syracuse,

3rd, Mia Ortiz, Syracuse. A big thank you to Sharon Baker

and Susanna Porter for chairing this event. Children's

Tractor Pull winners are unavailable at this time; Brian Zahn

won the Adult Tractor Pull. The biggest thank you of all goes

to Corinne Zahn for her tireless efforts in organizing, soliciting

and coordinating volunteers, cleaning, publicizing the event, and

every other little job that popped up. More thanks to the Village

Board, Unadilla Area Fund officers, Dwight Kastens, and the

many other volunteers who aren't listed here. Without your

help, the BBQ could not take place! And lastly, many thanks to

Dan Masters & Orchard Hill Catering for once again providing

us with such delicious food! Hope to see you again next year.
