Thanks to the Nebraska City Utilities crew for the mulch
for Main Street landscape. It came at just the right time.
The Books & Brew book club met Tuesday, August 5, at the
Community Library. Seven members were present and
Peggy Leefers was the hostess. Everyone had read a
Dorothea Benton Frank novel and were well liked. There
will be no meeing in September, but will meet again in
October. All will read the same book: "The Light Between
Oceans" by M.L. Stedman. Come and join us!
Norm Duncan reported that his grandkids from Lincoln came
for a visit on Saturday and he took them out and showed them
the bluebirds of different ages, their eggs, and nesting boxes.
Even their great-granddaughter who is 8 months old came
along. They had pizza for supper and a great time.

Condolences to the family and friends of Phyllis
Pickering, former Unadilla resident.

We are so glad the Hitzemann family has moved back to
Nebraska, giving us lots of grandson time. The stay this
weekend included fort building and a moonlight ride on the
golf cart down to "mountain lion country". The moon was so
bright we didn't even need the flashlights!

Western Wilhelm Outpost rainfall: Friday night, .40";
Saturday night, .60"; and Sunday night, .05". We needed
every drop.
