Hate to complain about the rain because then in

August you know what will happen! We had a little over

5" of rain last week. Everywhere you looked: water.

Thursday was the worst, but by 10 a.m. the water had

started to drop. The rains yesterday only contributed to

a bad situation. (photos 6-11-2015.)

Keeping your drinking water safe: Check drain lines

(refrigerator drink dispensers, water softeners, heat

exchangers, etc.) to be sure there is an adequate air

gap between the drain line and the floor drain or sewer

line into which they discharge.

Did you know a glass bottle thrown away today will

still be here in the year 3000?

Librarian

Unadilla Library News:  The featured author for the month is John Grisham.  We have 29 of his books on our shelves ranging from his older titles such as "The Client", "The Firm", and "Pelican Brief" to some newer ones such as "Sycamore Row".  We even carry some of his non-lawyer books such as "Calico Joe" and "A Painted House".  Some excellent books for some good summer reading.

Stop in and check Grisham out.!

american gothic

Friday, 6-18-1915, The Otoe Union:

Schreiner & Russell were installing Shinn Lightning Rods.

"This is the only Bonded System of Lightning Protection in

America. Every job we rod is covered by a $75,000 Bond

that LIGHTNING WILL NOT STRIKE." The publishers

began their editorial with, "Building good houses builds a

good town." (A good motto for our little burb.)

Live Improv Comedy at the Lofte!

The Lofte Community Theatre in Manley will be holding a night of live improv comedy entitled, “Whose Lofte is it Anyway?” on Saturday, June 20 at 7pm
.

In the style of the popular Drew Carey hit, “Whose Line is it Anyway?” and the comedy troupe, “Second City,” this show utilizes the skills and talents of some of the midwest’s best comedians.  This troupe of individuals (including the Lofte’s own Doug Rothgeb) participates in improv and skit comedy events in Nebraska, Missouri and Kansas.  They take the stage this weekend and will entertain you with a family friendly evening of laughter.  Some members of the audience may even be asked (or rather drafted) onstage to help usher in the fun!

Tickets for this event are only $10 and proceeds are earmarked to help the Lofte’s “Summer of Sound” as they update the theater’s sound system.  Tickets are still available at the door.  This will be a fun family event to celebrate Father’s Day.

The Lofte is located just east of the intersection of Hwy 1 and 50 near the town of Manley.  Those interested in advance reservations should call the box office at (402) 234-2553.
