We celebrated our 45th anniversary early and crossed a
few things off our bucket list: Grain Bin Antique City, near
North Platte; Ft. McPherson at Maxwell, Nebraska;
the log cabin where "Home on the Range"
was written near Athol, Kansas; Reamsville United
Methodist Church, where great-grandmother Wilhelm
worshipped before moving to Nebraska; the geographic
center of the continuous 48 states near Lebanon, Kansas;
ending up in one of our favorite places, St. Joseph,
Missouri.

Nebraska Tourism Promotes Nebraska Events and Communities on New Radio Show on Sirius XM Rural Radio
LINCOLN, Neb. (June 29, 2015)—Communities all over Nebraska will step into the national spotlight on Nebraska Tourism’s new Nebraska Nice Radio Show on Sirius XM Rural Radio Cannel 80. The show airs every Saturday for 52 weeks from noon to 1:00 p.m. The show is hosted by legendary radio personality and Nebraska Native, Patrick Combs.
Shows aired in the series so far included feature programs on NEBASKALand Days and The College World Series. Upcoming shows will feature Nebraska City’s Arbor Lodge along with the Lied Lodge, Norfolk’s Divots Summer Concert Series and Strategic Air and Space Museum.
“We are pleased to be able to offer communities and attractions all across the state the opportunity to share what they have going on with this audience and in this format. We think the listeners will be pleasantly surprised to hear about all of the great things going on in Nebraska and we hope it will prompt them to plan a trip here soon,” said Tourism Commission Director Kathy McKillip.
After taping their Nebraska Nice Radio Show segment, Arbor Day Foundation Vice President (on behalf of the Lied Lodge, Arbor Day Farm and Arbor Lodge) Doug Farrar commented, “It is challenging for people to understand all we have to offer for guests and tourists without some serious research. We are proud to partner with Nebraska Tourism to help drive tourism to our state, and to be considered one of the key destinations that help us bring a new sense of wonder to our guests. Shows like this are a great way to share valuable information about our destination with a nationwide audience.”
