Library news: "If Only" by Richard Paul Evans is a story
of two young people dealing with the harsh realities of life;
she is homeless, his father is ill, they find each other. The
story is set against the backdrop of the Cuban missile crisis.
"Tricky Twenty-Two" a Stephanie Plum novel by Janet
Evanovich. If you've read any of the previous 21 Plum novels,
you know how entertaining they are. If you haven't, you
should give them a try.The stories are suspenseful, action
packed, and Stephanie's family and friends are a riot, making
you appreciate you own family just a little bit more! We have
all the books in this series in our library. "The Girl in the
Spider's Web" continues Stieg Larsson's Millennium Series,
written by David Lagercrantz, it is a Lisbeth Salander novel.
A suspenseful story of spies, cybercriminals, and governments
around the world, it is fast paced and full of action, grabbing
you right from the start. All of them are great winter reads!

The roads were kind of slick and the returning holiday traffic
was heavy, but 10 brave souls attended the OCGS program
at the Dunbar Presbyterian Church, Sunday afternoon,
November 29. Edith Roettger and Roland Jensen were the
hosts for the afternoon, and provided the group with history
and photographs beginning in the 1850's. The first settlement
was referred to as "Wilson's Crossing".

Perhaps the most
interesting story was about Jesse James and gang spending
the night in a farmer's barn north of Dunbar. In visiting, the
farmer told them about the money he owed the bank, and
the next morning the James gang was gone but they had
left enough money for the farmer to pay off his loan. The
following day however, the Dunbar bank was robbed - number
one suspect: Jesse James!
