The first military burials at the Omaha National Cemetery
will be on September 27, 2016.

We will have another Veterans Coffee on November 11
from 9 - 11 a.m. in the Veterans Room. If you live in the Unadilla
area and want to share some of your mementos, please contact
me. If you would like to write a short story of your time in service,
we are collecting those also.

We are also changing displays in the History Room and will
be focusing on Nebraska turning 150 years old next year. If
you have photos or items from the celebration held in Unadilla,
would you be willing to share them with us? Or at least let
us scan and copy them? Also looking for items that can be
used as display cases and a moveable bulletin board.
Thanks in advance!

Don't you just love volleyball season? Whether it's Huskers
or Rockets, it's still this Granny's favorite sport to watch!
Classmates of 1967 - yes it's true, next year will be our
50th reunion! We've created a Facebook Page:
Syracuse NE Class of 1967
If you were only with us a year or two or three, we would still
like to hear from you!
Send us your photos

Greenblatt & Seay proudly announce the 20th ANNUAL SCHOOLHOUSE FIDDLING BEE. This historical, hysterical event will take place on Sunday, October 9, at 2:30 PM, downstairs in the Old Avoca, Nebraska Schoolhouse. In the Open Division, fiddlers will play a hoedown, a waltz, and a tune of choice. There will also be other divisions of competition available for the adventurous fiddlers, including a Singing Fiddler's Contest, a Twin Fiddler's Contest, a Fee-Fi-Faux Fiddler's Contest (fiddle tunes played on any instrument other than a fiddle), and a Hocus-Pocus Contest (cross-tuning, sound effects, dancing, etc.), which will give fiddlers an opportunity to play tunes that are usually not allowed in any other contest.
For more information, and to register on line, log on to: http://www.greenblattandseay.com/schoolhouse_fiddling_bee
Admission is $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for students, and $1.00 for children. Fiddlers and their back-ups are admitted for free. The contest will be followed by a light snack and an acoustic jam session with Greenblatt & Seay.
