Condolences to Bruce and Arlan Liesemeyer on the loss of their
mother, Lois. She was one of the nicest women you will ever meet.
One again dogs are the subject of conversation: please
remember that once your pet leaves your property,
it needs to be on a leash!
The Library hosted a "Kids Open House" at the Community
Center on Sunday.
The event showcased the 75+ new hardcover kids books
recently purchased with grant money received from the LIBRI
Foundation. Over 25 kids attended and enjoyed the activities.

Kayla Gripenstroh shows the crafts she made.
The craft table was manned by Jillian and Julia Bennett.

Games were led by Janet Oelke and Jen Foley.
Snacks were provided by Leigh Luff.

Sharon painting Blake Bennett's face

Olivia Foley
Face painting provided by Sharon Demaree and was very
popular with a steady line of young faces waiting patiently
to be painted.

A special guest, the "Cat in the Hat" (Laramie Werner), attended
and led story time for the kids. Fun was had by all!!!
Thanks to all who participated.
Do any of you have annuals (from any Otoe County High
School) that you would like to get rid of? We have need of them
in the Resource Room and duplicates would be given to the
Otoe County Museum of Memories.

Preparations are under way for Groundhog Day. For more
information, go to the events tab above or check out our
FB page, Unadilla Bill - Groundhog Celebration. Hope to
see you there!
GroundHog Day 2011 Video

Ron Wenninghoff and family have put together a DVD
chronicling the first year of the new Unadilla school building.
There are interviews with teachers, students, the 8th grade
graduation, school picnic, and much more. It will be playing in
the Library on Groundhog Day for your enjoyment. If you see
Ron, please thank him for all his work on creating this
wonderful memory!
Did you know on January 31, 1940, the first Social Security
check was issued and it was for $22.54?
Belated birthday wishes to Michelle Windhorst,
Paul Minderman, and Richard Speth.
