Thanks to all who attended the Memorial Day Luncheon at the
Unadilla Community Center! It was a success once again providing
all with a deliscious lunch and a chance to relax and visit. The
Library Board would like to thank everyone who made the lunch
possible: Servers: Glenda Willnerd, Sheila Downey, and Julia
Bennett; Joyce Schulze for preparing the yummy sloppy joes;
Peggy Leefers for her scrumptious pasta salad; Barb & Milton
Leefers for their donation of potato salad; Village Board members:
Lynn Schomerus, Dan Crownover, Dale Stoner, Scott Hincker,
and Janet Oelke and volunteers: Keri Hincker, Keith Kimbell,
Craig Kimbell, and Shelby Oelke for the set up and take down
of the tables and chairs. This luncheon couldn't have happened
without your help! Proceeds will benefit the Library and the
History and Veterans Rooms.
Thanks so much to the many volunteers who put up and took
down flags at the Unadilla and Hopewell cemeteries. Your support
is SO appreciated.
There was some major demolition going on last week: the
grain bins, water tower, and leg of the Midwest Farmer's Coop
south of the scales are now a thing of the past. Main street continues
to change! What do you think will happen next? We'll keep you posted!

The Unadilla Volunteer Fire & Rescue is seeking volunteers
for Fire Fighter and Emergency Medical Technician. All training
will be provided by the Department. Nurses wanting to serve the
community can be accepted in place of EMT. If interested please
call Steve Vodicka at 402-828-3515 or come to our regular monthly
meeting, June 12, at the Firehouse, starting at 7:00 p.m.

Condolences to the family and friends of Don Flessner who
passed away on May 31. Always ready to lend a hand,
he will be missed.
Thanks to Judy Stoner Pope for her generous donation to the
Unadilla Cemetery.
Thanks to Larry Goering for donating a wonderful photo to
the Veterans Room.
Thanks also to Bev Crownover for letting us display her
friendship quilt in the back hallway.
Addition items regarding the Unadilla Alumni Dinner: Peggy Leefers
was presented with flowers to show appreciation for all the work
she has done in past years to keep the association going. Also, a
big thank you to Milton & Barb Leefers for putting together all the
"goodie" bags. The 12 winners enjoyed exploring the contents and
will have "goodies" for a long time. Gift cards were also awarded.
Kate Lucas, former resident, has moved to Southlake, east of
Menards on Hwy #2. Kate is in Room 106, she'd love to hear
from you!
