Please fly an American flag of any size on 

September 11, Patriot Day. Honor those who lost their

lives, their families, and those who are still fighting today,

at home and abroad, to preserve our freedom.

Congratulations to Hannah Hassler and Justin Walden,

who were married Saturday, September 2,

in Nebraska City. Wishing you a long and wonderful

married life.

Did you know our Main Street is on the National Register

of Historic Places? Many towns and villages had businesses

and homes that sprang up next to the railroad, but Unadilla

is the only town in Nebraska that has a curved Main Street.

The story goes that the street curved to line up with the

railroad, and the railroad curved to align with the Nemaha

River. We really are special!

It was nice to see Mike Lucas and family who are 

visiting family in the area. He is the son of

Marvin & Jean Lucas.

Condolences to the family and friends of the Gary

Ganger family. Gary's mother passed away recently.

Condolences also to the family and friends of Melville

"Howard" Crandell, who passed away 8-25-2017 in

Arkansas. He will be buried in the Unadilla Cemetery.

Most of the country is taking a look back at the U.S.

joining WWI in 1917. Otoe County made a book honoring

those that served with their photo and information.

In addition, I came across these two interesting articles

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Chairman and Board of Trustees of the Village of Unadilla, Nebraska, will meet in a publicly convened session on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. at the Village Library, 770 G Street, Unadilla, Nebraska.  The agenda of subjects to be considered at said meeting is kept continuously current and available for public inspection at the Village Office.

1. Budget hearing

Except for items of an emergency nature, the agenda shall not be enlarged later than twenty-four hours before the scheduled commencement of the meeting. Any persons needing special accommodations should contact the Village Office at least five days prior to the meeting date.

E.C. Williams, M.D., located his office on the corner east of the 

Bank (now the site of Lemka Recycling). "John DeLaney is

chief cook and bottle washer at the Meat Market now."
