We attended the Jr. High volleyball tournament in
Weeping Water Saturday. Congratulations to the girls
and coach. Both teams placed second. If you haven't
been there, it quite an impressive facility. We are going
to be sad to see the season end, Jr. High basketball
doesn't start till after Christmas!

If you see Roland Rodaway out and about,
congratulate him on reaching 98 years old!

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO

Friday, 10-12-1917, The Otoe Union:
William Botsford and family went to Clifton, Kansas, to
visit the Fred Lyon family. Laurence Lyon returned with
them for a short visit. Program for the moving picture show
(held at the Opera House/Town Hall): "Roped In", a dashing
western romance featuring Neal Hart; "Heart Aches", a
drama with Gale Henry and William Franey; and
"Single Code", a 5-reeler starring Crane Wilbur. (Think
this was the beginning of binge-watching?)
