Are you interested in all things Nebraska? If so, stop in at the Library. We have recently received some books from the University of Nebraska Press, plus some donations. Included are books by Ted Kooser, who served as United States Poet Laureate for two terms, a book on Notable Nebraskasn, one on the North Platte Canteen, and a book of short stories on Nebraska's diverse landscapes and people. Learn more about our great state!

We will be adding 4 showcases to the History and Veterans Rooms in the next week, so we will be able to display additional items. Thanks so much to the Unadilla Library for purchasing these units. It is truly an honor to display these items. Call me with your ideas!

we can only imagine the fun he would have had that day!

UNADILLA VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Chairman and Board of Trustees of the Village of Unadilla, Nebraska, will meet in a publicly convened session on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. at the Village Library, 770 G Street, Unadilla, Nebraska. The agenda of subjects to be considered at said meeting is kept continuously current and available for public inspection at the Village Office. The tentative agenda for this meeting includes:

1. Pass Ordinance on the Sale of Lot 1,2,3,& 4 Blk 43 Coop Office and Weigh Scale

2. BBQ Preparations

Except for items of an emergency nature, the agenda shall not be enlarged later than twenty-four hours before the scheduled commencement of the meeting. Any persons needing special accommodations should contact the Village Office at least five days prior to the meeting date.

Friday, 4-5-1918, The Otoe Union:

Congress finally passed a law requiring all men age 21 to register

for the draft. "H.R. Stoner drove to the poor farm where he got the

remains of Jack Hatcher." A funeral was held at the home of Thomas

Rodaway and then Hatcher was buried in the Unadilla Cemetery.

William Hahn and John L. Beckard left for Camp Funston. "The

Burlington Railroad has again offered use of the right of way along

its 9373 miles for the growing of food stuffs." Preference would be

given in this order: Burlington employees, adjacent property owners,

and then the general public.
