Village Board Meeting Tonight
Wednesday, October 10, 2018
7:30 p.m. at the Library

Continued get well wishes for Rose Marie Brandt, Phil Willnerd,
and Sandy Denton. New wishes for Berdean West, Kathryn
Ganger, Sam Pester, and Gerry Davis.
Frank and Corey Schulze would like to thank everyone for
attending their birthday party. They collected 180 lbs. of food
for the local food pantry along with monetary donations. Also
thank you to those who volunteered setting up, tearing down,
serving, and cleaning up. The Schulze family relays
"What a blessing to live in this community. The memories
we made that day will last a lifetime."
The Village Board meeting minutes from September
can be found on the "Village Office" link above.
Corinne reports the calendar is filling up fast for the
gym - don't wait for the last minute to schedule your
activities! Call her at 402-828-5705.

Our community library is constantly adding new books.
Latest arrivals: "Fear" by Bob Woodward and
"Fantasyland" by Kurt Anderson. Pick up some good
reading for these chilly nights!

If you see Roland Rodaway out and about, congratulate
him on reaching 99 years old!
My sister, daughter, and I visited the Aldrich House & Museum
in Elmwood on Sunday. The house is filled with fall and
Halloween quilts and quilted items mixed in with the charming
displays.

"Happy Jacks" by Karyl Smith, Oxbow Quilters
Outside and in the sun porch were many barn quilts of
all sizes. Kurt Schrader, the curator, is amiable and filled
with knowledge of Aldrich family history. Don't overlook
this little treasure on a rainy day!

"Topsy-Turvy Scarecrows" by Sarah Vodicka, Oxbow Quilters
The whold family gathered afterwards for some of Scott's
wonderful bbq ribs at the Western Wilhelm Outpost. Spending
time with family is the best therapy!
