Finally, after weeks of rain, the new M.K. Meats
locker plant is under construction!

Condolences to the many family and friends of Berdean West
who passed away 10-11-2018. She was a lifelong resident of
Unadilla, had a great sense of humor, and was a great person
to visit with, especially when it came to all my questions about
history. You will be missed Berdean.
The Flag Disposal Ceremony was held Tuesday evening,
October 9, at the Post Home in Syracuse. There were 52
patriots of all ages, and thankfully it didn't rain the whole
time! Thank you to the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and High
School speakers who attended. The older kids are such an
inspiration to the younger ones. And thank you to the Legion
Auxiliary for serving the lunch. Hope to see you all and some
sunshine next year!

Saturday the Rescue Squad ended up having their garage
sale in the gym. It was well attended and they would like to
thank everyone for their support. It went a long way to paying
off the gurney and power unit. (You can still donate!)

Then in the afternoon the medical helicopter landed on the
ball field at the park. The flight crew explained operations
and demonstrated how patients were loaded into the helicopter
as well as other procedures. The grandsons were pretty excited
to see inside and actually be able to set in there. Thanks
Unadilla Volunteer Fire & Rescue for the opportunity!
