Wow, what a surpirse in the amount of snow we had Saturday! Leland
Carmichael measured 7 inches in the morning and then it snowed for the next
5 hours. My girls and I spent the day stocking our freezer with homemade runzas.
Yes, we ate a few too! Thought I was going to have overnight company, but their
4 wheel drive got them to the highway.
Attended the 90th birthday party of Aunt Lucille Kreifels Sunday afternoon.
It was great seeing all the cousins again, meeting the new ones, and the
cake was great!

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO

Friday, 1-17-1919:
Both churches opened for the first time in 3 months. "The church bells certainly
sound good once more." School attendance was almost back to normal with only
one child still absent. There were still so many adults with the flu that Dr. Hillis from
Syracuse was in town every day, the bright side being there hadn't been any
deaths in nearly 2 weeks.
