Hello Autumn 400

Some of you may again have received a letter from the American Cancer

Society asking for a donation to the Unadilla All Fund Drive - this is NOT connected

to our drive. We're not asking you not to donate if you wish, but asking that you

remember our drive is coming up soon and all the money we collect stays in our

community, theirs does not.

The Unadilla Open was held Sunday at the Wildwood Golf Course in Nebraska City.

Don't have any results yet. Watch for them on the Unadilla Bill Facebook page.

Saturday, September 14, Syracuse Junior Varsity volleyball took 1st place in

the tournament hosted by Syracuse, by beating the Beatrice Lady O's. Other teams

in the competition: Sterling, Weeping Water, Palmyra, Platteview, Bennington,

and Johnson County Central. Thank you for a great day of volleyball ladies!

Kastens and Nina Rohlfs.

apple tree

Bob Brandt says there are still a lot of apples to pick by the community garden

(those south of the alley). If you want a dozen or so, but are unable to pick them, call

the Bank at 828-3210, then you can get them at the Bank the next day.

Did you know...Nebraska has aquifers below it? If poured over the surface of the

state, the water would be 37.9 feet deep. The state has nearly 10,000 registered

and active irrigation wells; 44% of cropland harvested is irrigated.

Monday evening we attended the Syracuse Junior High football game against

Lincoln Lutheran. In Nebraska, football is a sometimes dangerous subject for

conversation, but let me just say, at the end of the game boys on both sides,

along with their coaches, gathered into a circle and had a moment of fellowship.

It was another great day to be a Rocket fan.
