The Community Center was really busy Saturday night.
The SHS Class of 1975 held their reunion in the gym and
the Unadilla High School Alumni dinner was held in Suite #2.

Peggy Leefers reports: 38 alumnie and spouses attended the Unadilla Alumni dinner. The social hour was spent viewing the new history rooms that included displays featuring Veteran's photos, uniforms, and memorabilia, school photos and mementos of years gon by, and the miniature villages and trains displayed by Corey Schulze and Sharon Demaree. A carry in dinner with fried chicken provided by the Alumni Association were complimented by many deliscious salads and yummy desserts provided by the attendees. A local history quiz and readings of past events followed.
The honored class of 1945 was represented by Arvilla Kuenning and Bob Fey. The honored class of 1950 was represented by Marvin Lucas and Bill Stoner. Attending from the class of 1955, were Colleen Zenisek, Jan Thomson, Katherine Callaway, Larry Halverson, and Larry Bartling. The class of 1955 will be hosting the 2016 annual dinner. Prizes of Caseys and Walmart gift cards and bouquet centerpieces were given to some lucky winners.
The ballpark is getting quite a workout this summer. Two teams are
using Unadilla as their home field and most of those games are
played on Friday night.

Memorial Day, May 25th a fundraiser lunch was held in the Unadilla Community Center to help support the new history rooms and to give visitors a place to meet and socialize. The event was sponsored by the Unadilla Library and a grant from Thrivent. Approximately 60 people enjoyed the free will offering lunch with donations of $535. A huge thank you to Frank & Joyce Schulze for the donation of sloppy joes, Sharon and Corey for once again having the villages and trains going, Sue and Julia from the library for serving, the town board for taking down and putting away all the chairs and tables, and Barb for setting up the displays. A special thank you to Peggy Leefers for all her work and organization.
The history rooms were open for viewing and the responses were quite positive. This rooms are already proving to be valuable to the community in keeping our local history alive. They can be viewed any time the Village Office is open or on weekends by appointment. Anyone with items to loan or donate, please call Barb Willhelm or the Village office. Thank you again for your generosity.

Did you know if you started using cloth napkins it would keep
500,000+ tons of paper based trash out of landfills each year?
Even considering the cost of laundering those napkins, the
impact on the planet would be huge!

The Unadilla Cemetery Board would like to thank everyone
for their help in putting up and taking down the flags, and
Nash-Jensen American Legion Post #195 for the ceremony
on Memorial Day morning.
