The Sundowners FCE was organized in January 1964 and will

be recognized for their 50 years of service and education at this

Friday night's banquet at the state conference in Gretna. Also

honored will be the 3 charter members who are still in the club:

Jean Lucas, Norma Jean Boettcher, and Peggy Leefers, all of

Unadilla. (These clubs were formerly known as extention clubs.)

Sundowners volunteered to make table centerpieces complying

with the "Denim Daze" theme. I was lucky enough to see the

centerpieces and loved them. What ingenuity and creativity

these women possess! Congratulations from the community.

summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves,

tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it

stops moving, subsidize it!"
