At 7:34 a.m. this morning, Unadilla Bill braved the blizzard (along with Bob and Brody Brandt) and took up his regular post atop the picnic table on Main Street. He reveled in the snowy beauty around him but did not see his shadow, predicting we will have an early spring!

Yes, the rumor is true! The gas station will again be open,

sometime between now and spring, 

doing business as Nitty Gritty Gas & Thrift, Dan & Bev Anderson,

owners. It will be wonderful to gas up "at home" and not

have to pray all the way to Syracuse or Palmyra, that you

can make it before running out of gas!

Thanks to the volunteers at the Otoe County Museum of

Memories for letting me come and play with them. I hadn't been

there for a few years and they have some new displays that

are wonderful. I was unaware of the display of Clara Parker's

hand painted china, donated by Alta & Jessie Rhoten,

especially of interest to me since Clara was from here. There's

also a grocery store "built" by Bob Fey, and so many others.

Pencil a Sunday afternoon into your summer calendar to 

visit them, and take a trip back in time.

UNADILLA VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Chairman and Board of Trustees of the Village of Unadilla, Nebraska, will meet in a publicly convened session on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. at the Village Library, 770 G Street, Unadilla, Nebraska. The agenda of subjects to be considered at said meeting is kept continuously current and available for public inspection at the Village Office.

1. 1 & 6 Year Plan Resolution

Except for items of an emergency nature, the agenda shall not be enlarged later than twenty-four hours before the scheduled commencement of the meeting. Any persons needing special accommodations should contact the Village Office at least five days prior to the meeting date.

SIX YEAR ROAD & STREET PLAN

UNADILLA VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

 

            Notice is hereby given that a Six Year Road and Street Plan for the Village of Unadilla, Nebraska, as required by NEB. REV. STAT. Sec. 39-2119 et seq. R.R.S. has been recommended for approval by the Chairman and Village Board of Trustees, and that a Public Hearing be held on said Six Year Road and Street Plan on the 10th day of February, 2016, beginning at 7:30 pm at the Library in the Unadilla Community Center, at which time objection to or recommendations for said Plan will be heard.

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO

Prof. A.W. Morris, principal of the Unadilla Schools, died

of pneumonia. He was taken to Ashland for burial. "Maylon

Kline finished filling his big ice house so the people of Unadilla

will be assured of a supply next summer." Charles Stilwell 

paid $100 for David Everest's driving mare. The high

temperature in January 1916 was 55, and the low was -21.
